I.K., Class of 2020

Before quarantine I was getting ready for my last performance in theatre as a senior. I had a role I was really excited for and I knew that it would be my last time putting on a show with all of my friends. That part was really hard for me to let go of as time went on at home. Realizing I wouldn’t get a regular graduation ceremony was another difficult part.

To say that life in quarantine is horrible for me would be a lie, I am fortunate enough to have all the resources I need to continue school online and my family is also safe and healthy. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t felt like my senior year has been ripped away from me. Knowing that years before us had everything set up normally for them, and that future years will be prepared if COVID-19 is still effecting school and events. Right now is simply a bad time to be a senior in high school.
